Our Approach to Safety
The quiet work behind every expedition.
Effective 29 June 2026
The best safety system is not a single piece of equipment or a written protocol. It is preparation, good judgement, and the discipline of keeping groups small enough that nothing important is missed.
Guide Training
Every guide working with All Latitude is trained for the environments they operate in. Wilderness First Responder certification — or equivalent — is standard, alongside discipline-specific qualifications in freediving, mountain travel, ocean work, and remote logistics.
Risk Assessment
Each expedition is built around a written risk assessment that is revisited before every departure. Conditions on the ground are evaluated daily by the team in country, with decisions made by the person standing in front of the terrain — not by anyone at a desk.
Weather Decisions
Weather windows shape every itinerary. The team monitors forecasts continuously and adjusts the day's plan to match the conditions, the group, and the margin of safety we want to keep.
Flexible Itineraries
Itineraries are designed with built-in alternatives. When a planned activity becomes unwise, an equally meaningful alternative is already prepared.
Emergency Planning
Every departure carries a documented emergency response plan covering evacuation routes, the nearest medical facilities, communication procedures, and the contacts required to coordinate a response quickly.
Communication
In remote regions the team carries satellite communication devices, ensuring contact with emergency services and with a guest's emergency contact in any circumstance where conventional networks are unavailable.
Wilderness First Responder Training
Wilderness First Responder training equips guides to manage medical events in places where professional help is hours, not minutes, away. It is a baseline expectation, not a credential to advertise.
Local Knowledge
In every region we operate, All Latitude works with people who know the place better than any visitor ever could. Their judgement is the foundation of the experience and the first layer of safety.
Guest Responsibility
Safety is shared. Guests arrive prepared, follow the lead of the team in the field, and speak up when something does not feel right. The strongest safety record in remote travel comes from groups where everyone is paying attention.
