Travel Insurance
The most important decision before you go.
Effective 29 June 2026
A small expedition cannot replace the protection of a proper insurance policy. The right cover turns the unexpected into a manageable problem rather than a personal crisis.
What Your Policy Should Cover
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for every guest and may be mandatory for certain expeditions. At minimum, your policy should provide cover for:
- Emergency medical treatment in the country of travel
- Medical evacuation and repatriation
- Adventure activities relevant to the expedition (e.g. freediving, glacier travel, altitude, off-piste hiking)
- Trip cancellation and curtailment
- Lost, delayed, or damaged baggage and personal equipment
- Travel delays and missed connections
Activity-Specific Cover
Many standard travel policies exclude the activities at the heart of an All Latitude expedition. When choosing a policy, check the small print for explicit cover of the activities listed on your expedition page — particularly freediving depth limits, altitude limits, and off-piste or remote travel.
Proof of Cover
Before each departure, guests are asked to share basic policy details: insurer, policy number, and the 24-hour emergency assistance number. This information is held only by the expedition team and used solely in the event of an incident.
When Insurance Is Mandatory
For expeditions that include freediving, glacier travel, remote ocean work, or altitude above commonly insured thresholds, valid insurance with appropriate activity cover is a condition of participation.
A Note on Choosing an Insurer
All Latitude does not recommend a specific insurance company. Cover varies significantly by country of residence and by personal circumstance, and the right choice should be made with full understanding of your own needs.
