South Africa: Horseback Safari

-24.5, 28.3

Track wildlife on horseback across private game reserves, camping under stars and riding through big-game country.

This is a riding safari for experienced equestrians who want to experience Africa from the saddle. We ride across vast private reserves where elephant, giraffe, zebra, and antelope are habituated to horses. Days are spent tracking game on horseback, with evenings around the fire in unfenced bush camps. The pace varies from walk to canter depending on terrain and wildlife sightings. No fences, no vehicles — just you, your horse, and the wild.
